Office of the Provost  - Faculty Resources

Administrators and staff within the Office of the Provost are dedicated to serving the Division of Academic Affairs and the university and to fostering the success of students, colleagues and units. The Office of the Provost has overall responsibility for 20 academic units including seven colleges, one independent school, undergraduate studies and seven Regional Campuses located throughout Northeast Ohio. The office also has overall responsibility for curricula, planning and academic resource allocation, instructional and research programs, management of academic personnel records, faculty and staff development, institutional diversity and the publication of the Undergraduate Catalog.

Academic Organization
Includes colleges, departments, schools and Regional Campuses. The structure also includes institutes, centers, museums and concert halls.

Academic Personnel
Maintains faculty personnel records. Find specialized forms, such as Faculty Absence Authorization/ Expense Estimate Forms, and hiring steps information.

Academic Programs
Links to a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, associate and specialized degree programs on Kent State's eight campuses.

Academic Quality Improvement
Coordinates and provides leadership for the Academic Quality Improvement Program and academic continuous improvement initiatives with the assistance of the advisory committee on academic assessment.

Commencement
Plans commencement ceremonies.

Curriculum Services
Handles the analysis, facilitation and monitoring of proposed curriculum changes and the implementation of those changes as approved by governing bodies. Access curricular forms and guidelines, Educational Policies Council information and more.

Faculty Affairs
Disseminates information about promotion, tenure, reappointment procedure guidelines and grievance procedures.

Libraries and Media Services
Provides print and electronic information resources, supports students doing library research, and offers a range of media and classroom services.

Office of Diversity
Ensures the effective translation of diversity themes into policies, procedures, programs and practices.

Planning and Budgeting
Provides information regarding budgeting and planning issues.

Regional Campuses
Connects students to the 181 programs of undergraduate study. Regional Campus students may complete associate's degrees in arts and sciences, health, business, engineering and technology or selected bachelor's degrees. Additionally, an eight-campus School of Technology operates as part of the Regional Campus system.
