On Tuesday, Sept. 14, Kent State University Stark Campus will celebrate women’s history with a "Red Dress Special," the kick-off event for Women in Flux. In addition to celebrating women's history in the month of March, Kent State Stark will celebrate women's historical Red dressesachievements all year long. Red dress donations are currently being accepted for the event. Dresses may be in any condition and in any kind of fabric or pattern. The dresses will become part of a giant clothes-lined installation, which will wave through the Stark Campus. Participants will have the opportunity to write letters to women who have made a difference in their lives and pin them to the dresses. At the end of the event, all of the dresses will be donated to women's shelters.

To donate red dresses for the event, please mail them to Red Dress Special, Kent State University Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44709, drop them off in the designated box across from the elevator in Kent State Stark's Main Hall lobby or in the Fine Arts Building (in front of the theatre entrance). You may also arrange for donated dresses to be collected by calling Dr. Jaclyn LaPlaca, history, at 330-244-3306.
