The primary mission of the Office of Government Relations is to develop strategies and courses of action that will yield the necessary level of support and serve as the conduit for information between Kent State University and local, state and federal governments. Accordingly, the Office of Government Relations makes recommendations to and advises the president of Kent State University regarding the advancement and maintenance of relations with these governmental units.
The Office of Government Relations works closely with the president, provost, university vice presidents and other appropriate individuals to develop a thorough monitoring and evaluation system for governmental issues of importance to Kent State. In this regard, maintaining close and trusting relationships with federal, state and local governments at the executive legislative and appropriate agency levels are the primary goals and responsibilities of this office.
