Center for Health Promotion through Education

The mission of the Center for Health Promotion through Education is to link schools, agencies and universities together in order to sustain collaborative, long-term efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and communities. To achieve this mission, the Center for Health Promotion through Education has six major initiatives: (1) to assist agencies and schools in assessment, design, implementation and/or evaluation of health promotion initiatives through grant writing; (2) to conduct and/or coordinate research in order to identify risk behaviors and evaluate prevention and treatment programs; (3) to enhance graduate students' professional growth by providing field experience in health promotion initiatives; (4) to promote the Center for Health Promotion through Education through communication media; (5) to assist the College of Education in obtaining health related resources; (6) to represent the Center for Health Promotion through Education at local, state and federal levels through meetings and/or conferences.
