E is for Elephant/Education
Faculty and students are teaching teachers and creating opportunity in Kenya — In July 2002, Dr. Kenneth Cushner, professor of education and former executive director of international affairs, escorted the first group of Kent State faculty and Northeast Ohio teachers to Kenya. To date, groups of Kent State faculty and students have visited the Mount Kasigau area at least seven times, typically for two to three weeks each trip. They worked primarily in five villages around Mount Kasigau — Rukanga, Kiteghe, Jora, Bungule and Makwasinyi. Read more in the fall issue of the Kent State Magazine.
