Plus-1 Credit
Welcome

Dear Student,
Welcome! Thank you for considering experiential learning as a path to enrich your academic experiences at Kent State University.
The Office of Experiential Education and Civic Engagement (OEECE) was created out of efforts put forth by KSU faculty members who saw firsthand, the enthusiasm that experiential learning has on students. I am super excited about the Fall 2012 debut of the Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR) and the opportunity to assist in bringing your course materials to life!
The OEECE strives to make the Experiential Learning Plus-1 Credit a rewarding option for our students. As a course add-on, the Plus-1 Credit offers an opportunity to enrich class materials through real-world experiences that can put you on a path to self-discovery and professional gratification.
Contained in this handbook are the tools and information you will need to be successful. It is my hope that by the end of your Plus-1 Credit experience, you will have a better understanding of your discipline, course, societal challenges, and of yourself.
Please take advantage of the OEECE’s resources and staff throughout your experience. We are here to serve as your prime support for engaged learning experiences.
Sincerely,
