History and Current Issues in College Athletics
The course examines the history of college athletics in the United States from its beginning in the 1800s until today. It focuses on everything from the major scandals and controversies to gender and race issues in college athletics. We then discuss the controversial issues that still exist today. Thank you for your interest in taking summer coursework.

Each year many students with varying interests and backgrounds take classes during the summer session. Students enroll in summer courses to complete graduation requirements, to shorten the time to graduation, to concentrate on one or two courses, to allow lighter loads in future terms, to take prerequisites for future courses, to raise their GPA, and to retake or make up a course.
