Financial aid is defined as funding that comes from outside your family to assist with paying for your college education. Some aid needs to be repaid (like loans) while â€Å“gift aid†(like scholarships and grants) do not have to be repaid.
Kent State University awards financial aid based on financial need and/or merit. More than 85 percent of Kent State freshman receive some form of financial aid including grants, student loans, parent loans, work-study and scholarships.
