Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college-based, officer commissioning program. It is designed as a college elective that focuses on leadership development, problem solving, strategic planning and professional ethics.
The AFROTC program at Kent State is designed as an elective program for students interested in learning the disciplines stressed by the Air Force ROTC. The AFROTC prides itself on allowing students to try out the program their freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join. For students that are up to the Air Force ROTC challenge, they will receive more specialized training while also finishing their degree.
