UndergraduateInternational students are encouraged to apply for undergraduate scholarships at Kent State University. Applications are available online at the Student Financial Aid website. Students in the top 20th percentile within their graduating class may be eligible for Honors College scholarships. Most academic scholarships are based upon academic performance rather than on financial need. Scholarships do not require repayments and are often renewable if students meet specific academic expectations. Other scholarship programs are based on athletics or leadership. Please refer to the International Student Financial Aid Resource Guide for further information.
Only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to apply for federal financial aid. International student loans may be available. For additional information about external scholarships go to the Fast Web scholarship search engine.
Undergraduate students may be eligible for academic, athletic or creative scholarships. Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid for a complete list of available opportunities. You may also want to research funding opportunities through your own government or sponsoring organization.

GraduateFinancial assistance at the graduate level is available in three forms. The first and most available is a graduate assistantship. In return for up to 20 hours of work per week during the academic year, the student will receive a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. The second, a teaching or research fellowship, offers a full tuition waiver and monthly stipend and allows students to focus exclusively on teaching or research rather than departmental duties. The third form is a scholarship that may require external funding or may involve university or departmental competition.
Students are expected to apply for financial assistance before or simultaneous with an application for admission. Only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to apply for federal financial aid. International student loans may be available.
