Major Aaron Mix enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard in October 1996. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Leonardwood in May 1997. Aaron served a wheeled-vehicle driver for the 1484th Transportation Company from May 1997 through January 1999, completing an NTC rotation in July of 1999. Aaron commissioned through the Ohio Army National Guard's Officer Candidate School (OCS) in
August 2000 after an 18-month commissioning process. Upon
commissioning, Aaron was assigned to the 1485th Transportation Company and deployed in support of OIF 1 from February 2003 through June 2004. Aaron took command of the 1485th Transportation Company in March 2005 then was assigned as the 112th Transportation Battalion operations officer (S2/3) after leaving command in August 2008. Aaron was called to serve again as a commander, this time for the 1487th Transportation
Company from January - May 2009, and back to the operations officer assignment through May 2010. Aaron served as both the Logistics and Personnel officer between May 2010 and May 2011 within the 112th Trans. Bn. Aaron was then assigned as the Support Operations Officer from May 2011 through July 2012. Recently, Aaron was assigned as the executive officer for Kent State University Army ROTC. In addition to a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Akron, he holds a masters degree in administration from Central Michigan University and is a graduate of the US Army's Command and General Staff School. Aaron is married to Amy Faist and they have two daughters and a son, Addison (3), Delaney and Caden (1). He currently
resides in Copley, Ohio where he enjoys fitness, sports, and spending time with family traveling.
