Art Education Mission
The Kent State University art education program is student-centered using theme-based and issues-based approaches.  Critical inquiry and response is promoted through making connections between studio practices, art history and aesthetics to intercultural themes and interdisciplinary instruction.

Core Values

The art education faculty at Kent State University value:

  • Graduating high quality art educators that teach art with a focus on relevancy, diversity, and inclusion.
  • All forms of visual creative expression in art, to include fine arts, design, crafts, folk/outsider arts, visual culture, visual communication, and digital media.
