On Monday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. in Ludwig Recital Hall in the Music and Speech Center, the newly-formed quintet - the Black Squirrel Winds - will present their debut concert. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Black Squirrel Winds Quintet is made up of Kent State faculty members of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music Danna Sundet (oboe), Kent Larmee (horn), Diane McCloskey Fiocca (flute), along with musicians - avid soloist Amitai Vardi (clarinet) and Akron Symphony member Mark DeMio (bassoon). The program will include works for wind quintets by such composers as Jacques Ibert, Farkas Ferenc, Gyorgy Ligeti, Luciano Berio, George Gershwin and Paquito D'Rivera.
The Music and Speech Center is located at 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, Ohio. Parking is free.
