Kendra Lapolla has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Columbus College of Art and Design and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Design Development from The Ohio State University. Prior to her arrival at Kent State University, she spent time teaching undergraduate CAD and Fashion Illustration courses at Albright College in Reading, PA.
Her main research interests include co-creation in design, product attachment, and creative processes. Her research has been presented internationally with the Wardrobe Network at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and at the Design and Emotion biannual conference recently held at Central St. Martins in London, England. She is also an active member of the International Textile and Apparel Association.
Kendra has spent several years working in the fashion industry. She has experience in technical design, apparel design, and apparel graphics. As an educator, she uses her industry experience to establish real world scenarios that require students to improve design problem solving skills.
