Leonardo Ferragamo to speak to students, receive honorary degree and be inducted into university’s Fashion School Hall of Fame
On Thursday, April 7, Leonardo Ferragamo, CEO of Palazzo Feroni Finanziaria S.p.A. (better known as Salvatore Ferragamo brand of shoes and luxury goods) will be on the campus of Kent State University. Ferragamo will tour the Fashion School, the Kent State University Museum and the College of Communication and Information (CCI). Students of the Fashion School and CCI will have the opportunity to hear Ferragamo speak at a special presentation at 2:15 p.m. in Rockwell Hall Auditorium.
At a special public ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Kiva, Ferragamo will be inducted into the Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising’s Hall of Fame. Ferragamo will then receive an honorary degree Doctor of Humane Letters by the Kent State Board of Trustees and President Lester A. Lefton. These events are available for filming and photographing:
- 2:15 – 3:30 p.m. – Rockwell Hall Auditorium – Ferragamo will meet and greet with Fashion School students and make a short presentation to the students.
- 5 p.m. – Kent Student Center Kiva auditorium – Formal ceremony of Hall of Fame induction and presentation of honorary degree.
