Violin and Piano Recital on Tuesday, March 29Posted Mar. 10, 2011
Kent State University at Stark presents a recital performed by violinist Robert Waters and pianist Jerry Wong on Tuesday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Waters is an active performer of solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire and has concertized throughout the United States and abroad. In 2008, he was appointed concertmaster of the acclaimed orchestral/choral ensemble, Chicago’s Music of the Baroque. Waters is the founding member of the Jupiter Trio and the Callisto Ensemble.
Wong is a graduate of Indiana University, Peabody Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, where he completed a doctorate of musical arts degree. He has performed as soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. During the summers, he is co-director of the Piano Institute at Kent State University.
For the Kent State Stark audience, Waters and Wong will perform pieces by Franz Schubert, Eugene Ysaye, Claude Debussy and Paul Schoenfield.
