US 10003-Reading Strategies For College Success

  •  Highlights the interrelationship of reading and writing used to discover meaning from a  variety of texts. Students will develop effective strategies for comprehending material and responding to print.
  •  Placement is based on ACT Reading subscores or SAT Critical Reading or Verbal scores. 
  •  Adult and veteran students who do not have an ACT or SAT Reading score are required to have a COMPASS assessment.  COMPASS testing will be given during your scheduled DKS day or your alternative DKS appointment in the Center for Adult & Veteran Services.

US 10006-Study Strategies For College Success

  • This course links instruction in textbook reading and study skills with learning in a concurrent content course. Students in US 10006 are concurrently enrolled in PSYC 11762, SOC 12050, PHY 11030, or HIST 12070, providing an opportunity for application of reading and study strategies with immediate relevance to authentic content.
  •  Placement is based on ACT Reading subscores or SAT Critical Reading or Verbal scores.
  •   Adult and veteran students who do not have an ACT or SAT reading score are required to   have  a COMPASS assessment.  COMPASS testing will be given during your scheduled DKS day or your alternative DKS appointment in the Center for Adult & Veteran Services.
