A Note From Our Advisor

Thanks for visiting our neck-of-the-woods!!

As advisor for the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at Kent State University, let me be the first to welcome you to the organization. Our mission at BGSA is to create an arena for students of color to construct the essential connections for resilience not only in college, but also in life. In times of change like these, we at BGSA realize that our organization’s most constructive asset is our communal wisdom and cultural awareness; our students make the organization’s philosophy a reality. One of our missions is to educate the community about the social impact students of color have on the community at large. We take pride in this mission and hope to avail ourselves to becoming positive practitioners in the process. BGSA welcomes members from the KSU community to take advantage in this development in hopes that we all will continue to build a community of pride, unity, professional maturity, social change and cultural consciousness.

As you visit our website, feel free to contact any of the members for information about BGSA. We look forward to hearing from and working with you in our journey toward the social development of our communities.
