Registration and/or Transcript Hold

A registration and transcript hold is placed on any student account that owes a prior term balance or does not have a current mailing address on file. Students will not be able to register for any future semesters or receive their transcripts until the outstanding balance is paid in full or a current mailing address is provided.

How to release my hold:

You may pay your balance on the web using a debit/credit card or have the funds withdrawn electronically from your checking account at https://commerce.cashnet.com/kentpay Please allow a 24 hour period for your holds to be released. Another option is to contact the Bursar's Office at 330-672-2626, option 4 and speak to a representative.  Holds will be released immediately after debit/credit card information pays your prior term balance. You can also send a check, or money order with your account number to Kent State University, Bursar's Office, P.O. Box 5190, Kent, OH, 44242-0001.
