KENT, OH - Kent State University joined 35 Universities from around the world in Montreal, Canada at the John Molson MBA International Case Competition held January 6 to 11, 2013. The competition, the oldest and largest of its kind in the world, is organized by MBA students from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business.
Kent State University’s College of Business Administration sent five of their best MBA candidates who over six days, tackled five business case studies, including one “live” case study. The case studies were judged by over 250 members of the Montreal business community. Kent State had a winning record of 3-2, placing 14th overall and was second among US schools. KSU team members included Josh Hostetler, Melanie Panutsos, Zeba Mehdi, Brad Neumann and alternate Adele El Helou. The winning team took home the Concordia Cup and up to $10,000 in prize money.
This year’s event had the greatest number of international competitors in the competition’s history. In addition to the seven American and twelve Canadian universities participating, there were seventeen International schools from fourteen countries and five continents; Australia, Egypt and South Africa were all represented for the first time.
Kent State University's eight-campus system, among the largest regional systems in the country, serves both the development of a true living/learning approach at the Kent Campus and the regional needs on seven other campuses throughout Northeast Ohio.
The Kent Campus provides the resources and facilities of a large, diverse Ohio university, while the Regional Campuses – Kent State University at Ashtabula, Kent State University at East Liverpool, Kent State University at Geauga, Kent State University at Salem, Kent State University at Stark, Kent State University at Trumbull and Kent State University at Tuscarawas - offer the friendly, casual atmosphere of small liberal arts colleges.
