Beta Alpha Psi/Accounting Association
Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is a national scholastic and professional fraternity for accounting, management and information systems, and finance major students and professionals. There are academic requirements and service requirements to be a member of BAP. Beta Alpha Psi is a tremendous way to interact with professionals and future professionals from whom you may later wish to seek employment. It is also a great way to develop strategic contacts and relationships with faculty members who can provide good potential job sources and references as well. Kent State University has an active, award-winning chapter of BAP.
The Accounting Association is also a wonderful organization. It requires less commitment than Beta Alpha Psi, but it still offers the interaction possibilities. Some students choose to join the Accounting Association until they are able to pledge Beta Alpha Psi, and others remain a member for their entire time at Kent State University.
Both organizations are a great way to get in touch with the business world. Both help students to view many possible employment options, and also to make contacts with established professionals.
