The Collegiate Business Association, also known as CBA, is a minority professional development organization that is geared towards the social, personal and professional development of underrepresented business students on Kent State University main campus.
Leadership, scholarship, empowerment and enterprise are the values that operate at the core of who we are and what we stand for. Our constituency consists of minority business majors and minors and the general minority student body in general. Our mission is to assist minority freshman transition from high school to college; provide student-centered professional development through relevant programming and services; empower our people to become well-rounded individuals by addressing their immediate and long-term social and cultural needs.

In 1977, Barbara Daily and Jacqueline Means established a student organization called the minority Business Association. Its mission was â€œto help African-Americans students to complete Kent State Universityâ€™s business requirements successfully.â€ By 1987, the organization and its goals had expanded, and the name was changed to the Collegiate Business Association. Since then, The Collegiate Business Association has grown in membership and activities and has become an academic, social and professional development organization, which prepares all minority students to become active agents of change in their communities--local, national and global.
