The Financial Management Association exists to further our members’ knowledge of finance beyond what can be easily taught in a classroom setting. We offer members information on how to increase their skills in finance outside of an academic setting, direction on how to successfully begin a career in finance, and opportunities to develop networking skills that are a necessary component of modern business.
We hold weekly meetings where free pizza and pop are provided, and anyone is welcome to attend. A typical meeting usually begins with a few pertinent announcements; typically job and internship opportunities, or networking events relevant to finance. After any announcements, the main portion of the meeting is a presentation from a speaker. We have different speakers every week, and each presentation is geared towards informing us students of the opportunities that await us upon graduation, and what we can do to secure these opportunities. The meetings generally end with an informal question and answer session with the speaker. While anyone can attend the meetings, there is a small fee to become an official member.
