- $500,000 Gift Supports Kent State Students in Unpaid InternshipsAn Illinois-based businessman and Kent State University alumnus has made a $500,000 philanthropic grant to internships for students in the university’s College of Business Administration.
- Beta Alpha Psi Garners Awards at Regional MeetingBeta Alpha Psi students raced off to Indianapolis this weekend for the BAP Midwest Regional Meetings and Best Practice competition. The group was awarded first prize for its "Green Business Practices" presentation.
- College of Business Bids Farewell to RetireesFaculty, staff and friends gathered on Wednesday April 27 to bid farewell to seven College of Business retirees: Michael Hu, Rick Kolbe, Robert Krampf, Michael Pearson, Rick Schroath, Marvin Troutt and Ed Ziegler.
- College of Business Hosts Annual Spring CelebrationOn Saturday April 9, 2011, the College of Business gathered to celebrate the scholastic achievement of students and faculty over the past year. At the celebration, 68 new members were initiated into Beta Gamma Sigma, the Business Honor Society.
- College of Business Recognized by U.S. News & World ReportKent State University has been recognized once more in U.S. News & World Report. The College of Business undergraduate program has earned a ranking of 159th, earning a top-tier spot on the “2011 Best Business Programs” list.
- Congratulations Dr. Ran BarnivOn behalf of the University Research Council, we wish to congratulate three outstanding faculty members for winning the 2011 Distinguished Scholar Award. Dr. Ran Barniv of the Department of Accounting was among the award recipients.

The Center for Information Systems presents the IT & IS Career Expo where students can learn about exciting careers in information systems, computer science and information technology. The event will be held on Thursday March 3 in the Kent Student Center beginning at 10:00 am.
- Kent State Opens Ohio’s First Campus Kitchen Feb. 23The Campus Kitchen at Kent State University, part of a national food recovery effort to feed hungry families, will celebrate its grand opening with a public event Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. A donation box located in the computer lab A224. Donations will accepted through the end of the semester.
- Retired Professor is Outstanding Accounting Educator The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) has announced that retired Kent State University Professor Norman R. Meonske, Ph.D, was named the 2011 Outstanding Accounting Educator recently at the American Accounting Association Ohio Region (AAA) meeting in Dublin.

- Van Benthuysen Applied Business Experience AwardsA new program within the College of Business Administration, funded by a $500,000 gift from alumnus Walter Van Benthuysen, ’61, makes such difficult choices much easier. It provides scholarships of up to $4,000 for students within the college who are pursuing unpaid internships.
