DENNIS P. CAREY

Emeritus Professor of Integrative Change


Dennis Carey is a former director of the Center for Applied Conflict Management (1975-1995), designing the early curriculum for the Peace Studies and Applied Conflict Management academic programs.  He presently teaches part-time for the Center for Applied Conflict Management and also for the Master of Public Administration program.  He has held many important postings in his long career, including senior editor of one of the leading peer-reviewed journals in the field of peace and conflict studies, Peace and Change: A Journal of Peace Research.  Dr. Carey also served in Columbus on Ohio Governor Richard Celeste’s senior staff as Executive Assistant and Policy Coordinator.  In addition, he oversaw the writing and passage of the legislation establishing the state-wide Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management and was instrumental in the formation of the National Academy of Peace at the federal level.
