Conflict Management Practices and Possibilities:  A Conference Celebrating 40 Years of Peace and Conflict Studies at Kent State University - March 7, 2014

The Center for Applied Conflict Management presents "Conflict Management Practices and Possibilities:  A Conference Celebrating 40 Years of Peace and Conflict Studies at Kent State University" on Friday, March 7, 2014.   KSU's Center for Applied Conflict Management's BA degree began in the 1973/4 academic year, and is one of the country's largest and most robust programs in Peace and Conflict Studies. This year is also the inaugural year of the Conflict Analysis and Management doctoral track in the PhD in Political Science at Kent State.  This conference celebrates both milestones.  The conference features a keynote address by Dr. George Lopez, Director of the Academy for International Conflict Management and Peacebuilding at the United States Institute of Peace, as well as workshops on diverse methods mediation, improving organizations through appreciative inquiry, careers in conflict management, and creating positive community change.  These workshops feature local professionals in the field as well as CACM alumni.  Lunch with Gandhi portrayer Bernie Meyer is another highlight for conference attendees.  A detailed schedule and registration information is available at http://www.kent.edu/cacm/news/annivconf.cfm
