Landon Hancock Co-edits New Book, Local Peacebuilding and National Peace
Posted Feb. 3, 2012The new book co-edited by CACM’s Dr. Landon Hancock, Local Peacebuilding and National Peace, picks up where his 1997 volume, Zones of Peace, left off: analyzing the interactions between the kinds of local peacebuilding efforts evident in the earlier book and the national peacemaking initiatives or war fighting strategies that are pursued by national governments. Once again breaking new ground, this new book documents how local people have sought to make their own peace with local combatants in violent and protracted struggles. It thus makes an extremely valuable contribution to our knowledge of local and national peacebuilding, advancing the literature in important ways.
