Douglas Steidl
Douglas L. Steidl, FAIA, is dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University.
Steidl was founding partner of Braun & Steidl Architects in Akron, Ohio, a position he held from 1983 to 2007. Before joining Kent State, he served as manager of Renard, LLC, an investment, development and consulting company. His career also includes working at John David Jones & Associates as designer, project manager and director of architecture; the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps; Allegheny County Redevelopment Authority in Pittsburgh; and the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Steidl holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a distinguished naval graduate of the Naval Officer Cadet School of the U.S. Navy in Newport, R.I., and a distinguished graduate of the Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officer School in Port Hueneme, Calif.
