Outreach + Service

Overview

Architects will always be a part of a community. Whether the firm in which they work or the communities who serve as clients, our students will always be engaged with communities. Instilling a sense of service and understanding of the designers’ responsibility is paramount to CAED.

Community Design: A course focused on engaging Northeast Ohio communities who have a passion to succeed but are in the early stages of finding their vision for the 21st century. Our students partner with these communities, using design to inspire ideas and discussion. The experience gives students the opportunity to work for clients and helps them understand the realities of designing within real world circumstances.

Studio Projects: CAED encourages professors to use their studios to engage projects that represent the realities of our region. Students routinely get the opportunity to work on design projects for Habitat for Humanity and others.
