Computer Engineering Technology Concentration
The Computer Engineering Technology (CET) concentration is an in-depth, hands-on curriculum, offered at both the B.S. and M.S. level, through the Collegeof Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology. The CET concentration prepares graduates for careers in wireless networking, telecommunications, information and communication technologies, and manufacturing and installation of computer or computer- related equipment and components. Computer Engineering Technology students study the design of wireless network systems, telecommunications systems, networking hardware and computer hardware architecture and engineering technologies.
Upon program completion, successful graduates will acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience required to do the following:
- Demonstrate an understanding of digital data communications to include communications methods and standards/protocols, LAN and WAN systems, and wireless network communications.
- Design, develop, build, and implement computer and network systemsInstall and configure computer and network systems hardware and software
- Manage/administer network systems using network management tools
- Conceptualize and develop requirements engineering specifications for practical systems
