The Bachelor of Science degree Technology major consists of Technology, Construction Management and Technology Education Licensure.
Students receiving a Bachelor of Science degree Technology major in the College of Technology will be technologically literate and competent to support, utilize and manage complex technological systems. Those graduates who choose to be educators (i.e.: Technology Education Licensure Concentration) will guide students toward technological literacy in accordance with adopted national and state guidelines, and standards for licensure.
The Bachelor of Science degree Technology major with no concentration, is a management oriented technical curriculum built upon a balanced program of studies drawn from a variety of disciplines related to manufacturing and industrial technology. Included are a strong knowledge and understanding of materials and production processes and proficiency in design and computer aided manufacturing. These technical skills are combined with principles of quality and management a proficiency in physical sciences and mathematics along with a broad based liberal education.

BS Technology - Construction Management
The Bachelor of Science degree Technology major Construction Management concentration is a management oriented technical curriculum built upon a balanced program of studies drawn from a variety of disciplines related to construction management. Included are a strong knowledge and understanding of construction safety, document reading, estimating, and scheduling.
The construction management concentration is a professional-service approach that applies effective management techniques to the planning design. The concentration includes construction of a project from inception to completion, including emphasis on construction materials and methods to enable graduates to estimate costs, schedule work, oversee construction work site activities and manage projects. The presence of major construction firms and large architect/engineering firms in the region provides ample internship opportunities. The migration to green technology emphasis and increasingly sophisticated construction projects require stronger project management emphasis, making this program viable well into the future.
The BS in Technology – Construction Management concentration prepares students for professional careers in the management of construction projects.

BS Technology Education Licensure - This Program is being revised and will re-open for the Fall 2013 semester
The Bachelor of Science degree Technology major Technology Education Licensure concentration prepares technology education teachers, the former industrial arts. Over 70% of each year’s graduates secure teaching positions upon graduation, nearly all in Ohio. Graduates are expected to be agents of change to implement contemporary technology curricula for schools wishing and able to implement curricular change. Kent State University’s technology education graduates are licensed to teach grades 4-12, although most positions are at the middle and high school level. Graduates teach a wide array of courses including computer aided design, manufacturing, Engineering by Design, Project Lead the Way, manufacturing, construction, graphic communication/photography, woods and home maintenance, and STEM.
The objective of the technology education licensure curriculum is to prepare technology education teachers for grades 4-12.
Technology education licensure majors will pass Praxis I and Praxis II while being enrolled as undergraduates.
