Ashtabula Campus professor stays busy reading his poetry

Posted Apr. 6, 2010

The poetry of Associate Professor of English Roger Craik is not only in demand, it is, once again, award-winning.

Craik's poem "View of Delft" has won an Honorable Mention in the Akron Art Museum's New Words 2010 Poetry Contest.  A new record of 675 poems were submitted for consideration to this year's contest, according to the museum.

Craik will read his winning poem during the New Words 2010 Poetry Reading on Sunday, April 25, in the Akron Art Museum's auditorium.

His poetry has also brought him several more invitations to read and sign his books.

He will conduct a reading and book signing at Joseph Beth Booksellers in Lyndhurst on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. His book, Of England Still, will be available.

On February 8, Craik read a selection of his newer poems at the Rosa Parks Auditorium, in Montgomery, Alabama, by invitation of the English Department of Troy University.
