The 1968 cover features a bookplate from the Kent State University Library's collection; it belonged to American Bookseller Henry Stevens (1819-1886).
The Kent State University Faculty Publications was first published in 1968 under the guidance of then Provost John J. Kamierck. The 1968 volume, with the cover seen here, listed publications by faculty across 4 colleges (Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Fine & Professional Arts) and one school (Library Science). In 1970, Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences Bruce Harkness took up the task of maintaining the bibliography of faculty publications for the college, and for nearly 40 years the college has published and distributed the bibliography. In 2008, A&S Faculty Publications assumed digital form, which you will find here.
The mission of the faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences includes researched-based scholarship. The curriculum of the college is built upon the knowledge produced by research and scholarship, and scholars fully engaged in research bring the best possible educational focus to their students. The A&S Faculty Publications annual and biannual bibliographies below are a record of faculty accomplishment, and the College of Arts & Sciences is justifiably proud of the scholarship of its faculty.
