Kent State's antimatter discovery named as one of "Top 5" at Brookhaven Lab during 2010

Posted Jan. 31, 2011

Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York, has a staff of about 3,000 scientists and support personnel, and hosts about 4,000 guest researchers every year. Activities span many areas of physics, chemistry and biology, and past work at Brookhaven has yielded 7 Nobel Prizes. In 2010, research at Brookhaven led to over 800 peer-reviewed scientific papers. In January 2011, the laboratory management identified a paper in the journal Science about an antimatter discovery, spearheaded by KSU's nuclear physics group (see an earlier news item for specifics), as one of Brookhaven's Top 5 Scientific Discoveries of 2010 .
