Academic Forgiveness

The Academic Forgiveness Policy is available to returning undergraduate students who have not been enrolled at Kent State University for a period of at least one calendar year (12 months).  College of Arts and Sciences students who wish to be considered for Academic Forgiveness must make an appointment with a College advisor to determine eligibility and the impact of invoking this policy.  Given the many dimensions of this policy, including the fact that once invoked, the decision may not be reversed, consultation with the advising office is required.  To make an appointment, please call 330-672-2062 or go online and click on 'Schedule an Appointment'.

Please note that Academic Forgiveness should not be confused with the (obsolete) Freshman Forgiveness policy, which has been replaced with Repeat for Recalculation, in which students may repeat lower-division (10000-20000 level) Kent State courses and the university will use only the highest grade in the calculation of the cumulative grade point average.
