Acute care nurse practitioners provide advanced nursing and/or specialized medical care to adults with complex, acute illnesses in a variety of acute-care settings, including specialty clinics, emergency rooms and acute, sub-acute and intensive/critical care units in hospitals. Graduates of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate are eligible to site for the American Nurses Credentialing Center Acute Care Nurse Practitioner examination.

| Prerequisite: Master of Science in Nursing. Graduate of Adult, Women's Health, Family or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program (Board Certified or Board Eligible). OBN approved pharmacology course completed. |
