Matt Rollyson is a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology from Kent State University before working in crisis intervention and victim advocacy and earning a MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Akron. He joined KSU professionally as an academic advisor in 2007, and he's been serving as director of advising administration and graduate services for CCI since 2009. In this role he focuses on improving CCI student services procedures, collaboration among faculty and staff, and CCI students' retention and degree completion rates. Rollyson advocates for students' rights to access individualized advising and revised admission practices coupled with outcomes-focused, pre-college support for underprepared students, and he has presented at local events on various topics, most recently on how to clearly define the complementary roles of faculty mentors and academic advisors to ensure staff accountability, prevent confusion among students and reduce inefficient duplication of services.
