Campus Environment and Operations

Business and Supply

Budget Information

Business and Supply prepares, maintains, and tracks sixteen budgets for Campus Environment and Operations, whose total budget is over eighteen million dollars. These budgets cover the following areas in Campus Environment and Operations: Custodial, Repair of Buildings, Grounds, Power Plant, Purchased Utilities, Receiving and Distribution, Refuse, Fleet Services, Occupational Health and Safety, Hazardous Materials, Energy Management and Campus Environment and Operations.

Each area is responsible for their spending and income. This is done through purchase requisitions and Inter-Departmental Charges (IDC’s). All requests for purchases and charge backs are processed through the Business and Supply office.

A running report is maintained for each department to keep them informed of the status of their budget throughout the year. This is done through Access databases and Excel spreadsheets. A year-end projection report is generated for each budget so every department will be aware of what their finances will be at the end of the year if they stay within their projected budget spending. This information is updated weekly for accurate budgeting by all departments.
