General Services

To request services or information per shift regarding Custodial Services for offices, athletic and academic buildings, contact Campus Environment and Operations at (330) 672-2345.

Per Shift, Campus Environment and Operations’ Custodial Services cleans 48 buildings. This includes the cleaning of classrooms, offices, halls, restrooms and stairwells, emptying recycling bins, and removing trash.

The following building issues should be directed to the Custodial Services Manager:

  • Requests or concerns for general routine cleaning performed by the day or night shift Custodial crew.
  • Requests for special cleaning, such as shampooing carpeting, cleaning and/or waxing tile floors.
  • Depleted paper product supplies in restrooms.
  • Water clean up due to broken pipes and equipment.
  • Interior building entrance clean up from rain, ice and snow.
  • Cleaning needs due to construction, or situations causing a hazard or discomfort for building occupants.
  • Requests for sweeping and picking up outside entranceway trash and emptying cigarette ash cans.
  • Information on cleaning windows and window blinds.
  • Requests for insect or pest control services.
  • Requests to clean glass in entrance doors.
  • Requests to shovel snow at building entrances. 
  • Requests to sanitize restrooms.

Most special cleaning requests will be scheduled for completion during Winter and Summer breaks.

 

Please allot at least one week advance notice to Custodial Services to request your special cleaning service needs.

 

Interesting Custodial Statistics

 

Per shift over:

  • 6,000 trash cans emptied
  • 960 toilets cleaned
  • 400 urinals cleaned
  • 1,920 toilet paper holders serviced
  • 520 paper towel holders serviced
  • 740 sinks cleaned
  • 600 soap dispensers serviced
  • 100 showers cleaned
  • 260 large (44 gallon) trash bags of refuse removed from buildings
  • 25,000 square feet of cleaning per Custodial employee per shift (compared to the average-sized home, this amount of cleaning is equivalent in space to cleaning 14 homes per employee per shift)
