Asbestos Management

Occupational Health and Safety oversees the Asbestos Management Program, responsible for the safe and proper control of friable asbestos-containing materials in Kent State University buildings.  Asbestos-containing materials are normally found in sprayed on fireproofing, floor tiles, pipe insulations, roofing materials and other insulating products.  The Occupational Health and Safety office assists in these maintenance and asbestos abatement projects through building renovation or repair of friable materials.
