1.) I do not have a Master's degree, but I'd like to apply for the Ph.D. program. Is this possible?
Yes. You do not need a Master's degree to apply for the Ph.D. program. You need the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.
2.) Are both the general and subject GRE scores required?
No. The general GRE is a requirement. It is strongly recommended that you take the subject GRE, however, as it may serve to strengthen your application.
3.) Are there minimum requirements for the GRE scores?
Applicants should obtain at least a 148 on the revised GRE Quantitative section (600 on the previous version) of the general GRE exam.
4.) I am an International applicant, and I did not take the TOEFL exam, but I did take the IELTS. Is this okay?
Yes. We accept the IELTS scores in place of the TOEFL exam. The minimum cutoff for IELTS is a six.
5.) I am an International student who has completed an undergraduate degree in the U.S. Do I still need to submit TOEFL results?
No, if you have completed an undergraduate degree within the U.S., you do not need to send your TOEFL scores.
6.) Is there a form we need to use for our letters of recommendation or our statements of purpose?
No. There is no form or specific format for the letters or the purpose statement.
7.) I am interested in a specific division or a specific professor's research. Should I mention this in my purpose statement?
Yes, please let us know in your purpose statement what your interests are.
8.) Can you waive my application fee?
No. Neither our department nor the University is able to waive the application fee.
9.) Do I send my application materials directly to your department?

10.) I am interested in applying for the Spring semester. Do you have Spring admissions?
Yes, we admit in both the Fall and Spring semesters. The deadlines are as follows:
The deadline for all application materials for Spring 2012 is September 15, 2013.
The deadline for all application materials for Fall 2012 is January 10, 2014.
11.) Do I have to submit a separate application for graduate assistantship?
No. Everyone who applies for the graduate program will be considered for support in the form of a graduate assistantship.
