The Teachers

The teachers in our school are committed to working as a collaborative group.  There are six full-time and four part-time teachers, including a studio teacher.  Lead teachers in each classroom are faculty in the College of Education Health and Human Services and are experienced teachers who hold one or more degrees and teacher licensure in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.

All teachers have supplemental training in First Aid, Communicable Disease Recognition, Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention, and Infant/Child CPR.  The Center maintains an adult/child ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 in the toddler classes, 1:6 to 1:9 in the preschool classes, and 1:9 in the Kindergarten classroom.

Graduate and undergraduate students at the university are part of the teaching teams.  These teams are supported by an administrative staff composed of the secretary and coordinators for the following components of our school:

  • Children's program
  • Family services
  • Research and professional preparation
  • Student staff

The director serves as the pedagogical coordinator for the school.  Early childhood faculty are also integrally involved in our work.
