Serving educators in northeast Ohio and the world, the CIIE is a unique endowed center that seeks to preserve and promote the spirit of international openness and exchange exemplified by Dr. Gerald H. Read's remarkable career.
In 2004, CIIE was awarded Best Practice Award for Global and International Education by the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. In 1998, CIIE was awarded Best Practice Award for its support of diversity by the same organization.
WORLD WIDE OUTREACH--Kent State Unviersity and International Baccalaureate Organization collaborate for KSU graduate credit to be offered worldwide for IB North America and IBO sponsored professional development workshops.
In 2001, Phi Beta Delta, an honorary society for international scholars, presented the CIIE with its Unit Award for International Education.
