Become a Read Global Rover!
Earn Kent State Credit by participating in the Read Center’s Global Travel Tours and Seminars. Travel with Kent State’s Global Travel Tours and earn graduate credit by participating in unique pre-departure and post-departure activities as well as special lectures during the actual tour. Celebrate your travels by earning the Gerald H. Read Global Travel Certificate—simply by completing four of the tour/seminars during the next four years.
The carefully planned array of tours designed to help you realize your dreams of being a global traveler. As you rove the world, you can select from an exciting of different cultures and traditions and gain insights into some of the world’s most spectacular and charismatic places as you explore the man-made wonders of the world and marvel at natural grandeur of past civilizations.
Our tour schedule is thoughtfully put together to include:
- eastern and western;
- north and south; tropical,
- desert and ice;
- modern and ancient; and
- cruises and land tours
- all with a focus on people to people exchanges, and
- custom-made tours.
The seminar program for graduate credit and to earn theGerald H. Read Global Travel Certificate requires pre-departure readings and responses (on-line or by journaling), special seminar discussion lectures during the tour, and post-tour summation of the impact of the experience. As a cultural part of each tour in the Gerald Read tradition, we will visit at least one school or university. Each tour will have an identified Kent State instructor who will design the seminar around the focus of the tour.
