Student Essays / Posters / Videos

Requirements: Full Essays should be 8 to 10 pages in length; One-Page Essays for Presentations must be a minimum of 150 words to 400 words, and Videos should be 5 to 15 minutes, and Posters must be a self-standing Tri-Fold Poster (36x48).

Full Essays, One-Page Statements, and Video submissions are due by FRIDAY, April 7 and must be uploaded to the conference online link (Link will be available beginning on March 20th).

Papers and statements should include a cover sheet with name, title and identifying information. No identifying information should be on the paper or statement. ASA, APA, or MLA formatting must be modified to remove name from headers.

Tri-Fold Posters (36”x48”) are due the day of the conference and should be set up by the student in the Slak Shak between 8 - 8:30 a.m. on the day of the conference.  Posters may also be mailed to Dr. Lydia Rose, 400 East Fourth Street, East Liverpool OH 43920 and must arrive by 5 p.m. on Thurs, April 20th to be set up by volunteers.

Participants that submit an essay, statement, video, or intend to submit a poster will be highlighted in the program if registered by April 7. Those that register on time and present their work (essays, statements, videos, or posters) will earn a certificate. Participants in attendance will also receive an Earth Day T-Shirt.  Earth Day Goodie Bags will be available on the day of the conference on a first come basis.

This conference is sponsored by Kent State University at East Liverpool; Dean David Dees; Assistant Dean Susan Rossi; The Faculty Council, The Kent State East Liverpool Environmental Club; and the Kent State East Liverpool Honors, Biology, English, and Sociology departments.

There is no admission fee for the conference. The conference is open to the public. Everyone Welcomed!
