Dr. Hugenberg is published in state, regional and national journals. He was recently selected to serve as the inaugural editor of the Journal of Communication Studies; a new journal dedicated to empirical research exploring interpersonal, intercultural or organizational communication. Dr. Hugenberg is co-editing an anthology entitled, Sports Mania: Essays on Fandom and the Media in the 21st Century (w/ Paul Haridakis and Adam Earnheardt) (McFarland Publishers, 2008). He is a former editor of Communication Teacher and founding editor of The Basic Communication Course Annual. Dr. Hugenberg is a member of the editorial boards for numerous publications. He has written several communication textbooks including a simulation package for business and professional speaking. He is a co-author of an online textbook for the beginning hybrid communication course, Creating Competent Communication. During his career, he has received teaching and research awards from state, regional and national communication organizations.
