Stan Wearden is Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication, a sister school of the School of Communication Studies in the College of Communication and Information. His current research interests include audience perceptions of digital media, Web credibility, television news accuracy, media images of women and ethics in prime-time television. Wearden’s teaching areas include research methods in mass communication, mass communication theory, mass communication ethics, precision journalism, and newspaper writing and reporting. He also serves as chair of the Kent State University Institutional Review Board. Prior to joining the professorate, Wearden worked in non-profit public relations and as a technical writer and editor.
