WHO WE ARE: Lambda Pi Eta is a student and faculty
run undergraduate honors society. The organization is made up of communication studies majors who have met honorary criteria. Members of this organization have many leadership opportunities and the chance to help coordinate events within the department of communication studies.
WHAT WE DO: During the holiday season, Lambda Pi
Eta members participate in the Adopt-a-Family service project to help needy families in the Kent/Ravenna area. This project involves fundraising, community relations, and helping others.
MEMBERSHIP: To be inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, Communication Studies students must maintain a 3.25 GPA (within the major) and complete at least 12 hours of communication studies curriculum. In addition, students must also complete at least 60 hours of total coursework while maintaining a 3.0 GPA (overall).
THE GOALS OF LAMBDA PI ETA ARE TO: recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement; stimulate interest in the field of communication; promote and encourage professional development among communication majors; provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about the field; establish and maintain close relationships and understanding between faculty and students; and explore options for further graduate studies.
