Special Seating
Children
The Commencement ceremonies are long for young children to sit through. Families with young children are welcome to proceed to the Loge in the MAC Center, located on the third floor of the building. The lobby elevator provides access to the suite. Toys are set up in the Loge, where children can move about without disturbing the ceremony or other guests.
Guests with Special Needs
There are no wheelchairs available for guests in the MAC Center or Kiva, where the Commencement ceremonies are simulcast. However, handicap seating is available upon the graduate's request. Requests for special needs seating must be submitted when the graduate completes the online rsvp for the ceremony.
The graduate should include:
- Name of person receiving special seating
- Guest's ability to climb stairs, or if guest uses a wheelchair
- Notification if guest uses portable oxygen
Guests with special needs tickets need to arrive to the MAC Center 1 hour before the ceremony start time. Upon arrival, an usher will escort the guest(s) to their seat.
PLEASE NOTE: All guests on the first level must be in their seats in order to view the processional, as the doors will close and remain closed until the completion of the processional.
