MAC East Champions
Kent State’s 31-24 victory over Bowling Green Saturday, Nov. 17, earned the team a trip to its first-ever Mid-American Conference Championship game.  The Golden Flashes (10-1) claimed the MAC East title and set up a showdown with MAC West champ Northern Illinois (10-1) on Nov. 30 at Ford Field in Detroit.

Kent State is The No. 25 Ranked Team in the Nation in the New Associated Press Poll.

Coming into the game, Kent State was the No. 25 ranked team in the nation in the New Associated Press Poll.
The Golden Flashes have never won an East Division championship. Their only MAC crown was captured in 1972.

According to the Associated Press records, this is the first time the Golden Flashes have cracked the rankings since they were No. 19 in the nation back on Nov. 5, 1973.

"We are very excited to be in the Top 25, but there are still many more goals to be accomplished," said Kent State head coach Darrell Hazell.
